Who we are

3D Industrial Services (3D) is a veteran owned and operated metrology and alignment company designed to aid various industrial organizations by providing precision measurement support for part inspections, alignment of rotating equipment, and industrial surveying. With 28 years of experience in field environments, we excel to provide the most knowledgeable and accurate alignment experience the industry can offer.

-3D provides precision measurements for rotating equipment in industrial environments including Automotive, Power and Energy, Chemical and Petro-Chemical, Oil & Gas, Pulp & Paper, and the Steel industries.  3Dā€™s success rate contains projects for internal gas turbines, gearboxes, pumps, motors, extruders, mixers, press sections, rolling mills, robotic arms, pinion gears and mounts, re-grouts for foundation repairs, hyper and reciprocating compressors, layouts, and many others.

-3D provides construction layout assistance with new installations including centerline and control establishment with 3D coordinate networks.

-3D provides thermal growth and settlement studies for components that experience large amounts of heat exchange during operations for compensation of alignment procedures. Cases include components producing steam via pipe attachments such as boiler feed pump systems.

-3D provides on-site 3D scanning of large and small projects to aid engineering teams with preplanning operations and reverse engineering techniques.

-3D provides precision measurement and alignment consultation for preplanning projects to aid clientele in unknown circumstances and ensure alignment crews adhere to technical standards. We are the eyes and ears for our clients.

-3D provides topographical surveys including drone aerial mapping and stockpile volume control studies.

3D utilizes 3D coordinate measurements with laser tracker technology accompanied with CAD software for the majority of alignment projects. This system has proven to be highly affective with an increase in point-to-point accuracy with well-trained alignment technicians (short range point-to-point accuracy = 0.009mm; long range point-to-point accuracy = 0.039mm in controlled environments). Accommodations are available to clients who continue to demand conventional methods of precision alignment including theodolites, precision levels, and borescopes with advanced notice.

With well trained alignment crews and properly aligned rotating equipment you have the confidence of knowing your machines run at a highly efficient manner. A properly aligned machine increases the capability to run at a higher rate of speed, increases quality and production, while decreasing maintenance costs relating to downtime.
